What are Gems in Lost Ark?
Gems are an essential part of Lost Ark's high-level progression system. They can be obtained in many ways, mainly in Chaos Dungeons, and offer various effects that greatly enhance the skills of the class your character embodies.
Types of Gems in the Lost Ark
In Lost Ark, the gems have 2 different types of effects. Either they will help lower the Skill Cooldown time or Increase Skill damage.
How to Get Gems in Lost Ark?
There are a few ways through which you can get gems. Here's how you can get gems:
1). By playing and completing Daily Chaos Dungeons. These will net you tons of gems in both runs, usually giving you enough for at least one gem upgrade. Keep in mind that you will need Aura of Resonance to access these dungeons.
2). Taking part in S rank guild hosted PvP Island Events.
3). Taking down Field Bosses.
4). Buying them from an Auction House. The best way to ensure you get the right gem for what you want is to buy it but expect to pay Lost Ark Gold.
5). Completing levels in Boss Rush. It will be your ideal location for obtaining gems because you are awarded chests full of gems.
6). Doing Test Paths.
How to Equip Gems in Lost Ark?
1). You have to find the gem in your inventory and click on the equip button.
2). You can also be equipped by dragging it into the gem tab.
3). At a time, 11 gems can be equipped, and you are free to choose how many damages increasing and cooldown reducing gems you want to equip.
How to Upgrade Gems in Lost Ark?
1). You will need access to the Gem Synthesis/Gem Fuse window to level up gems.
2). This access can be obtained by talking to Gem Experts, which can be found in every capital city.
3). Once you access the Gem Fuse window, open your inventory.
4). Next, click on the bottom icon that looks like a diamond or a gem.
5). This will open the Gem Synthesis window.
6). From this window, you will be able to level up your gems.

1). You will need to find a Jeweler NPC in any major city (Notated by a red jewel icon on the map) and interact with them to start the process.
2). Alternatively, you can access Refaceting by accessing your Pet Functions and selecting the rightmost option.
3). Here, select the Reroll effect and choose the gem you wish to reroll.
4). Once both are selected, click on the Change button.
5). Rerolling a gem costs Silver, and the cost scales based upon the gem's level and tier, so make sure you keep an eye on it.
