In FIFA 20, Career Mode is back with a bit of a bang. Career Mode has a new look this year in the all-new FIFA 20, with some of the biggest changes we have ever seen. From new ways to customize your manager and the ability to create a female manager for the first time, to changes to the interface and how you interact with press conferences, Here are the New Features of FIFA 20 Career.
Customizable Manager
While the recent version of FIFA games saw you presented with a selection of around six template managers, ranging from the late 30s to 70s, and given the choice of a suit, shirt or tracksuit, this new mode allows you to completely customize your manager how you see fit.
You can still select from a template if you so wish, but can also edit from scratch, with options like body type, skin tone, clothing, and hairstyles.
It'll be worth spending some time crafting your ideal manager, with the ability to customize various facial features in detail. Additionally, just like in Pro Clubs and the new Volta Football mode, the avatar creation tool will include morphing options.
There will be a far more in-depth manager creation suite in FIFA 20, including the ability to play as a female manager for the first time in the mode's history.
Face the Media
Every decision you make in FIFA 20 Career Mode will have a consequence. From press conferences to squad rotation, the choices you make will have a direct impact on your team's morale and performance. Inspire your team with the answers you give in new interactive press conferences before and after key moments in your season.
The new tools developed in-house by the Career Mode team enabled our producers and designers to leverage this large amount of data and create enormous variations of story-lines that are deeply rooted in the player's experience and your way of playing. This means that the experience of each match will be treated differently by the 'journalists' and will always feel authentic and dynamic, depending highly on the outcome, goals scored, opponent, time of season or stage of the competition, and more.
Private Player Conversations
While a form of player conversations has existed for some time in FIFA's Career Mode, they're undergoing significant changes this year. The new system adopts a more in-depth approach, and again, your answers will directly affect your players' morale levels.
Player Conversations play a similar role to press conferences, but this time it'll be you as the manager speaking to the players one on one.
These conversations will be conducted through a messaging app-like interface, and you'll be able to choose the way in which you tackle a large variety of situations.
Based on your methods, you'll either positively or negatively influence player morale as well as your rating as a manager.
Dynamic Player Potential
Another significant change in Career Mode this year will see players' potentials develop based on their performance. This will allow their potential ability to change dynamically over time, is determined by how they performed in the previous season. The better they play on the pitch, the higher their Player Potential will grow.
Managing Morale
From rotating your starting 11 to shortlisting transfer targets and managing wage expectations, every choice you make affects your squad's morale, form, and even their OVR ratings.
Morale will be influenced by a multitude of different factors, ranging from playtime and wage expectations to a player's performance on the pitch and how well the team is doing. Secondly, answers in Press Conferences and replies to players in 1-on-1 conversations impact players' morale as well. Having high morale will be highly desired as a player's morale will influence their attributes in upcoming matches.
League UI Themes
The bland presentation and unchanged display have annoyed players of FIFA for a number of years, but that will change slightly this year, there will be 5 unique UI themes including Premier Leauge, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, LaLiga Santander and MLS.
The mode's menus will be coated in a specific visual style if you manage in one of these leagues, with competitions such as the UEFA Champions League also benefiting from a unique look.
Other new smaller changes, but ones which will likely improve the gameplay, are the ability to stop international job offers from the start, a fix to fixture congestion issues, and updated usage of the fourth substitute during extra-time in all competitions featuring the new law.
Expect competitive key games
FIFA 20 is introducing an array of gameplay changes that'll present new challenges on the pitch, but AI logic has also been tinkered with in Career Mode. Specifically, how CPU teams arrange their lineups for important matches.
New Negotiation Environments
New environments have been added to diversify interactions - two new environments including a rooftop lounge and restaurant.
